BOTH CONSERVATIVE AND UKIP councillors were outraged at a recent council meeting when a councillor “under internal investigation” was promoted.
The object of their ire, was Mark Hall councillor, Danny Purton.
Labour had proposed that cllr Purton be promoted to a role within the regeneration team as he had “considerable experience in his time as a Harlow council officer”
However, the Conservatives’ objected as ‘Cllr Purton was the subject of an internal standards charge.”
YH understands that it relates to cllr Purton using the “n-word” in the council chamber last year.
