ARRIVA has stepped in to take over the running of a key bus route in Harlow.
The move follows the loss of the existing service between the town centre and Tumbler Road and Potter Street. Arriva’s new Service 9 will begin on Saturday, February 27, expanding the bus operator’s local network.
Richard Lewis, marketing manager at Arriva, said: “As well as replacing this vital service, the new route is great news for passengers as it will be easier to travel around Harlow on the Arriva network. Our services will now cover even more of local area and our great value range of day, weekly and four-weekly tickets will be available to people living in the Tumbler Road and Potter Street areas for the first time.
“The introduction of the new Service 9 is part of an ongoing programme of improvement to our local network that has seen us introducing more modern buses and adding extra services over the past two years.”
Service 9 will run every 20 minutes from Monday to Saturday with a day ticket costing £3.50. The full range of Arriva day, weekly and four-weekly tickets can be purchased from the driver, online or via the Arriva app, giving unlimited travel across the local network.
Using the free Arriva Bus App, which is available on iPhone and Android devices, passengers can track their bus in real time and plan their journey with information available on the next bus, the nearest bus stop and which bus to catch.
