AFTER having been contacted by a number of residents, Robert Halfon has been working hard to get a zebra crossing on Hamstel Road by Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Robert Halfon said: “For a long time residents and patients have been urging for a zebra crossing at Hamstel Road. Cars often speed down the road and it is dangerous for elderly and disabled patients.

I am very pleased that Councillor Eddie Johnson, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport Delivery at Essex County Council, has agreed to the crossing and the funding, as this will make an important difference to patients and people who live or work in and around the hospital.

Funding has been guaranteed and I will continue to work with the Councillors to make it happen.

I would like to thank to Councillor Eddie Johnson for listening to the residents concern and for allocating this funding.”
