HARLOW Labour supporters were celebrating after Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn won a battle to stand for election.

Harlow Labour has alway been notoriously left wing and many were not backwards in coming forwards with their support for the socialist last night.

Bush Fair councillor, Ian Beckett said: “Sanity prevails; now the campaign begins. Proud my employer @ASLEFunion has stood by Jeremy Corbyn throughout.”

Netteswell councillor, Waida Forman simply went onto social media and described it as “Very good news.”

Harlow Council leader, Jon Clempner was less effusive. He said: “Corbyn on the ballot is the only sensible interpretation of party rules. Only the start of an almighty mess though”.

Trade Unionist Murray Sackwild, who stood as a Green Party candidate in the General Election in 2015, remains convinced that a Corbyn-led Labour can overturn Robert Halfon’s majority of 8,350.
