Harlow Council want you views on weekly food collections

Politics / Wed 20th Jul 2016 pm31 01:27pm

IF you live in a flat block, Harlow Council is looking for your views on your weekly food waste collection service.

The Council successfully bid for Government funding to extend food waste collection to around 7,500 homes in flat blocks. The service is now operating routinely for over 7,500 homes and has diverted over 700 tonnes (the equivalent to around 58 double decker buses) of food waste from landfill since December 2013. Your food waste is used to produce green energy, which goes to the National Grid to power homes, and liquid fertiliser which can be used to grow more food.

Now, we want to find out how the scheme is working for you.

All completed surveys will be entered into a prize draw where you could win:

· £50 shopping voucher and five rolls of compostable liners

· £30 shopping voucher and five rolls of compostable liners

· £20 shopping voucher and five rolls of compostable liners

Please give us your views by completing the survey at: www.harlow.gov.uk/foodwaste-survey

The survey closes on Sunday 31 July 2016.
