Athletics: The Jephcotts go the extra 145 miles!

HARLOW Running Club members Jamie and Daniel Jephcott completed the arduous
multi-terrain Cotswold 24 Hour Race at Cirencester in Gloucestershire. The pair
finished as 1st father and son team out of 9 such teams and 4th overall out of
255 individuals and teams. They completed 26 laps of the 9K course for a
fantastic total distance of 234kms (145 miles) in an exhausting 24hrs 26min
55sec.
Meanwhile at the Poznan Challenge in Poland Nick D’Alton completed an Ironman
Triathlon, a 2.4 mile swim in 59min 16sec, a 112 mile bike ride in 5hrs 42min
22sec and a 26 mile marathon in 4hrs 18min 38sec for a total time including
transitions of 11hrs 14min 36sec to finish in 270 place out of 563 finishers.
At the Harlow parkrun 5K Amaniel Tesfay finished as 2nd finisher out of 206
finishers in 19min 06sec. He was followed home by Ben Usher 4th in 20.06, Andy
Terrell 6th in 20.33, Martyn Coulter 13th in 21.37, John Bull 29th in 23.07,
Paul Dixon 30th in 23.13, Andy Smith 46th in a PB time of 24.07, Nicola Smith
48th in 24.16, Graham Saville 53rd in 24.49, Robin Lozeau 76th in 26.53, Louise
Kedge 83rd in 27.12, Andrew Smith 108th in 29.19, Louise Cootes 110th in 29.40,
Debby Barry 111th in 29.41, Kerry Mavris 113th in 29.52, Pushpa Mistry 132nd in
30.52 and Melanie Harris 156th in 34.06.
At the Hatfield Forest parkrun 5K Jason Haigh finished in 12th place out of 147
finishers in 20min 45sec.
At the Gunpowder parkrun 5K in Waltham Abbey Jamie Luck finished in 17th place
out of 124 finishers in 22min 07sec.
At the Bracknell parkrun 5K in Berkshire Brendon MacLean finished in 69th place
out of 320 finishers in 25min 02sec.
At the Belton House parkrun 5K in Grantham, Lincolnshire, Andy Kinney finished
in 99th place out of 164 finishers in 30min 01sec.
At the Hoddesdon parkrun 5K Brenda Clayton finished in 59th place out of 69
finishers in 34min 10sec.
