FOLLOWING the publication of a BBC report into rail fares today, Robert Halfon has written to Abellio Greater Anglia and the Rail Minister to request meetings to discuss why the fares for Harlow are higher than any other commuters and what can be done to put this right.
Robert said:
“It seems wrong that hard working Harlow tax payers have the worst value commutes than anyone else in the country. This is why I have written to Abellio and the Government Minister responsible for rail to see what can be done. I hope that now Abellio Greater Anglia has been awarded the new contract, they will do everything they can to keep rail fares low.”
