Athletics: David and Janice impress in Great North

David and JaniceHARLOW Running Club was represented at the Great North Run at Newcastle by
husband and wife runners David and Janice Page. Janice led the way, finishing
the 13.1 mile half marathon race in 9840th place out of 41,287 finishers in 1hr
57min 58sec. David was not far behind in 12,556th place in 2hrs 02min 38sec.

Meanwhile at the multi-terrain and hilly Takeley 10K Jamie Jephcott finished in
18th place out of 346 finishers in a creditable 41min 22sec. He was followed
home by Jon Steadman 53rd in 45.47, Vince Hayward 99th in 50.12, Pasquale
Pellecchia 205th in 58.28 and Austin Nyamande 245th in 61.55.

At the Greater Cambridge 10K Catherine Ridge finished in 80th place out of 480
finishers in 44min 00sec and Michelle Hyde was 175th in 50.40.

At the Langham 10K Andy Kinney finished in 444th place out of 598 finishers in
61min 45sec.

At the Woburn Olympic Triathlon, a 750m swim, 40km bike ride and a 10km run, Ben
Usher finished in 122nd place out of 264 finishers in 2hrs 42min 49sec.

At the Harlow parkrun 5K Craig Segal finished in 4th place out of 189 finishers
in a personable best time for the distance (PB) of 19min 44sec. He was followed
by Terry Ridge 11th in 21.47, Will Wall 19th in 23.07, Graham Saville 25th in
23.44, Paul Dixon 26th in 23.57, Paul Schroder 27th in 23.58, Andy Smith 28th in
23.59, Spencer Brooks 36th in 24.59, Michelle Hyde 46th in 25.35, Debbie Barry
54th 26.58, Louise Cootes 66th in 28.23, Hossein Erfani 82th in 29.45, Pushpa
Mistry 98th in 31.13 and Jeff Mace 120th in 34.05.

At the lowerstoft parkrun 5K Afewerk Rossom was 1st finisher out of 145
finishers in a 17min 38sec.

At the Hackney Marshes parkrun 5K Dan Chapman finished in 5th place out of 182
finishers in a PB time of 18min 01sec and Martyn Coulter was 14th in 19.45, also
a PB.

At the Gunpowder parkrun 5K at Waltham Abbey Daniel Jephcott finished in 3rd
place out of 138 finishers in 19min 29sec and Rick Ricketts was 13th in 21.21.

At the Southend parkrun 5K Andy Kinney was 163rd out of 271 finishers in 28min

At the Hatfield 5K, the first race of three, John Tennant finished in 74th place
out of 208 finishers in 20min 59sec.
