Review: Someone Like You..The Adele Songbook
Harlow Playhouse / Sat 17th Sep 2016 pm30 02:32pm
TO re-use a well-worn phrase, Katie Markham had the Harlow Playhouse at Hello. Katie’s first number was the standout hit from the third album “25”. Katie’s craft and her outstanding backing band really set the tone with the first number.
After that it was an entertaining journey round all three albums. Whether it was Chasing Pavements, Rolling in the Deep, Hometown Glory or Send My Love, each number was a tribute to the work of Adele but it was also a tribute to Ms Markham and her sublime ability to slip under the skin of Adele.
She stoppe dona couple of occasions to tell the audience about meeting Adele at the BBC programme and she also reflected on her X Factor experience.
The audience cut across the age groups and they really enjoyed the concert. Many left saying they hoped that Katie Markham returns to Harlow Playhouse.
