THE final version of East Herts Council’s District Plan is now ready to be made available for residents to comment on following the agreement at Full Council on September 22.
The six-week consultation will run from November 3-December 15.
During this final consultation residents will be able to comment on two specific grounds – that the Plan is based on sound evidence and is legally compliant.
Before responding, everyone is advised to read a set of FAQs which the council has put together. They explain all about the Plan and will guide people as they prepare their comments. Along with all the other documents they can be seen at www.eastherts.gov.uk/districtplan
Council leader Linda Haysey said: “I’m delighted the District Plan has been approved for final consultation. The plan goes into a lot of detail and considers every aspect associated with growth in our district over the next 15 years. I’d encourage East Herts residents to take the opportunity to review this important document and make any final comments.”
People will be able to see the pre-submission Plan at the council offices, town council offices and in libraries across the district from November 3.
From November 3 the best way to comment will be online at http://consult.eastherts.gov.uk and will ensure that you will be kept informed of future stages of plan preparation.
Once the consultation is complete and comments have been collated, the Plan will be submitted to the Planning Inspectorate for an independent examination early next year. It would then be adopted by late summer.
If you have any questions you can call the council on 01279 655261 and ask for the planning policy team or email [email protected]
