UKIP councillor fails to vote on budget for third year in a row

Politics / Sun 5th Feb 2017 at 02:43pm

Bill Pryor

THE LEADER of the UKIP group in Harlow has failed to vote for the budget at Harlow Council for the third year in a row.

Cllr Bill Pryor was elected in May 2014. IN Feb 2015, and 2016, he was unable to vote due to having a council tax arrear.

This year, he did not attend the vital council meeting and sent his apologies.

The one remaining UKIP councillor, Dan Long spoke at the meeting and urged that the council ensure that “All monies and savings go to the people of Harlow”.

Whilst this is naturally little more than a statement of fact, it does not ask why Cllr.Pryor missed the meeting. It may be a perfectly reasonable personal matter. Cllr.Pryor is certainly not the first Councillor to have had cash flow problems relating to Council Tax, and naturally has moved to sort them out. This does not reflect on his ability to be a Councillor - something he is excellent at and dedicated to.
