A MURAL designed by an acclaimed Polish artist has been damaged just a few hours after it was completed.

“We Are All The Same” adorned the walls of St Paul’s church and the back of the Harlow Playhouse.

It took a number of days for Jola Kudela and her colleagues to complete the work.

But on Friday night, two parts of the “paste up” had been stripped off and thrown away.

The event is part of the contributions of Essex County Council and the Essex Book Festival to the Harlow is 70 celebrations.

A series of events were held on Saturday culminating with the Polish Ambassador attending.

In August last year, a Polish man from Harlow, Arkadiusz Jozwik, was assaulted and killed in the Stow shopping area of the town.

A 15-year-old boy denies the manslaughter of the 40-year-old.

A trial is expected to begin in July this year.
