Hospital Chaplaincy Commissioning, Presentation & Volunteer Appreciation

A special event will take place at St. Margaret’s Hospital on 18th April 2017 when over 40 people are due to gather for a Commissioning of Hospital Chaplaincy volunteers, awarding Training Certificates and thanking current volunteers.

The evening will be led by St Margaret’s (EPUT) Lead Hospital Chaplain Rev. Paul Walker and Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) Lead Chaplain Rev Christian Okeke, who jointly facilitated the training. Special guests bringing greetings and presenting certificates include Sally Morris, Chief Executive, of EPUT and Phil Wing (Head of Inpatient Services)

Certificates will be awarded to 18 who are graduating from the 8 week training course. Rev. Christian will speak about the value of chaplaincy. Local PAH midwife Jane Walker & hospital visitor Louise Want will lead singing from the St. Margaret’s Hospital “Songs of Praise” book.

Rev Ernie Guest, Chaplain Duncan Whitehouse and other leaders representing local Churches will pray and commission the chaplaincy volunteers who will be providing holistic care at the Epping and Harlow hospital sites in conjunction with the Chaplains.

The event will conclude with trainees, special guests along with family and friends enjoying refreshments prepared by Jane Walker and team.
