The Harvey Centre Hosts Harlow Film and TV Convention

THE Harvey Centre in Harlow is delighted to announce that they will be hosting the Harlow Film & TV Con, taking place over the weekend of 20th and 21st May 2017. The event, which celebrates iconic TV and film through the decades, is completely free and will take place between 10am – 5pm on Saturday and between 10am – 4pm on Sunday.

During the event, customers will have the opportunity to meet the men behind the voices of a variety of TV and film characters that span the generations. These include:

Mark Ryan – best known for the voice of Bumblebee, Lockdown and Jetfire in the recent Transformers movies. More recently, Mark can be found playing the character Gates in Black Sails, while 80’s kids will remember him as Nasir in the 1980’s TV series ‘Robin of Sherwood’.

Marc Silk will be appearing on Saturday only. Marc provides the voices for both Scooby-Doo and Shaggy in the current cartoon series of Scooby-Doo. He has also voiced the narration of In the Night Garden, and is well known for providing the voice of Johnny Bravo. Another of the biggest names in his repertoire is the voice of Aks Moe in Star Wars The Phantom Menace.

Ross Mullan portrayed the White Walker in Game of Thrones, and has featured in many episodes of Doctor Who, where he played characters including The Silence, Wraith and The Teller. Ross also played Pemphredo in Clash of the Titans.

Josh Herdman who played the role of Gregory Goyle throughout all 8 Harry Potter movies, will be in the centre.

The UK 501st Garrison will wow the crowds on Sunday with their legion of Star Wars characters. The UK Garrison was formed in 2000 and has gone on to become one of the most impressive Star Wars costuming groups in the UK.

Much loved The Harvey Centre store, ‘Three Darths’ will have a presence within the event as well as having a large number of special offers and activity running throughout the store. These include a raffle to win a Funko Pop! Vinyl DC Bombshells Wonder Woman Chase figure worth £50.

The Panic Room, an escape room attraction in Harlow, will be at the centre throughout the weekend and will be running a competition for one lucky customer to win a voucher for up to 8 people to experience The Panic Room.

The Harvey Centre’s very own Cineworld Cinema will be on hand throughout the weekend with a number of giveaways including pick ‘n mix and popcorn. They will also be running a competition with free cinema tickets to be won.
The centre will also have a number of additional traders present throughout the weekend offering a variety of all things wacky and wonderful. These include, 3D Framing and Memorabilia, Darkside Goodies, Essex Toy Hunter, Coineagan Designs, Shed Loads of Magic, Seen the Movie and Gavin’s Jewellery.
