Owen Herts

Northern Home Counties Area Open – Pre-Cadet Competition – Hatfield Sports Centre

Owen Lambert (11) was Harlow Judo Club’s sole representative who travelled to University of Hertfordshire Sports Village, Hatfield, Herts, to compete at the Northern Home Counties Area Open – Pre-Cadet & Cadet Competition.

Owen competed in the Pre-Cadet section where players are born in the years 2004-2005. This, being his first Pre-Cadet competition, he proved his ability by winning 4 out of 5 fights which enabled him to take the Bronze medal. This new Pre-Cadet section saw him compete amongst some unfamiliar faces but familiar Coaches/Clubs. The standard of Judo was high but then so was the level of Event. Coach Mick Ellis said that his young player did well to medal at this level of competition, and is very much looking forward to the next big challenge in the young Judoka’s career where he, along with his older brother, Thomas, will travel to Sheffield to both complete in the prestigious 2017 British Championships Pre-Cadet and Cadet.
