2017 Essex County Levels Competition 3rd, 10th and 17th September

Medal winners Summer Dolan and Megan Spencer shone for Harlow Gymnastics club at the Essex County Levels competitions in Colchester. Competing innovative routines and performing novel skills allowed all the Harlow gymnasts to achieve fantastic scores.

Summer Dolan (9) won two silver medals in the level 5 age 9 event. Summer was awarded the medals for her performances on bars and floor, and finished in 8th place overall. Selene Virga (9) placed 4th on floor and 5th on vault and finished 9th overall, with teammate Sadie Cooper (9) narrowly behind in 10th position. Miley Shulton (9) placed 4th on bars, finishing in 12th position overall, and Millie Lynch (9) placed 16th in the same competition.

Further medal joy in the level 5 age 10-11 for Kingsmoor Academy pupil Megan Spencer (10). Megan earned the bronze medal on bars and finished in 10th position overall. Kacey Butler (11) placed 5th on vault and 5th on floor, to finish in 19th place overall, with teammate Shannah Stacey (11) placing 21st overall.

Ellie Kenway (12), competing in the level 5 12+ event, placed 6th on floor and finished in 18th place overall.
In the level 6 age 8 competition, Amy Abery (8) placed 4th on beam and finished in 13th position overall. Lois Covill (7) and Grace Hoskin (8) shared 16th position overall in the same event.

Alex Gronert (9) placed 4th on beam and finished in 12th position overall in the level 6 age 9-10 event. Aimee Cullen (9) placed 6th on vault and finished in 20th position. Ellie Hodges (9) placed 4th on vault, finishing in 23rd position overall. Eliza Swanepoel (9) and Connie Allen (9) shared 5th place on vault with overall positions of 31st & 33rd.

Miley Bex (8), Mia Fuller (9), Honey Gillick (9), Skye Girolami (9) and Eloise Moulds (9) finished overall in 13th, 18th, 27th, 32rd & 35th place respectively.

Head coach of girl’s development, Aimée Teahan, said: “Lots of new routines and skills performed; brilliant work leading to great scores.”
