Politics / Wed 18th Oct 2017 at 01:17pm

WE asked Harlow Council to tell us where residents can locate advice regarding Universal Credit.

They told us that there is an article on page 15 of the current edition of Harlow Times that provides information on the help Harlow Council can provide (you can find the e-edition at www.harlow.gov.uk/harlow-times)

Further information can be found at http://www.harlow.gov.uk/universal-credit

Plus:

“Universal Credit (UC) full services are already live in Harlow.

“Harlow Council has entered in to the DWP’s partnership agreement to provide Assisted Digital Support (ADS) and Personal Budgeting Support (PBS) to claimants of UC. The Council has secured the services of the Citizens Advice Bureau to provide these services to residents of Harlow.

“The Council administers the discretionary housing payments budget allocation from DWP, providing support where appropriate to residents whose housing benefit or universal credit housing element falls short of their rental payments.

“The Council works with and signposts residents to third parties who can provide further support and assistance.

“Council officers take a proactive approach to providing help and assistance.”
