Athletics: Irish eyes smiling for Houlihan at Dublin Marathon

HARLOW Running Club member Michael Houlihan completed the Dublin Marathon in
3291st place out of 15,889 finishers in a superb 3hrs 38min 28sec, a personal
best time for the distance (PB) by over 7 minutes.

Meanwhile at the Bury St Edmunds Marathon partially sighted runner Paul Watts
finished in 30th place out of 247 finishers in 5.09.15.

At the Thames Meander Half Marathon, an out & back trail run along the river
from Kingston upon Thames to Kew Gardens & back, Janice Page finished in 276th
place out of 451 finishers and 2nd Female Vet 55 in 2.03.55 and David Page was
314th in 2.09.49.

At the Billericay 10K Nicola Smith finished in 246th place out of 589 finishers
in 51.08, Debbie Barry was 271st and 1st Female Vet 55 in 52.26 and Jane Evans
321st in 54.43.

At the Bonfire Burn 10k at Histon in Cambridgeshire Brenda Clayton finished in
638th place out of 1017 finishers in 58.20.

At the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park Winter 10K Julie Bradley finished in 489th
place out of 542 finishers in 68.27.

At Harlow parkrun Andy Kitson was 1st finisher out of 139 finishers in 20.06. He
was followed home by Andy Terrell 4th in 21.05, Martin Westley 7th in 21.55,
John Bull 15th in 22.56, Graema Butler 16th in 23.11, Sam Carter 17th in 23.46,
Graham Saville 19th in 23.56, Jim Bates 37th in 26.08, Paul Schroder 40th in
26.31, Spencer Brooks 41st in 26.32, Robin Lozeau 44th in 26.38, Louise Cootes
55th in 27.49, Alan Cootes 56th in 27.50, Martin Elven 58th in 28.10, Wendy
Schroder 61st in 28.14, Jane Evans 66th in 29.09, Caz Smith 76th in 29.44,
Hossein Erfani 85th in 31.05, Pushpa Mistry 89th in 31.26, Alan Wellbelove 90th
in 31.37 and Sara Coombe 135th in 47.34.

At Hackney Marshes parkrun Afewerk Rossom was 1st finisher out of 253 finishers
in 16.01. He was followed by Ryan Smith 26th in 19.37, Martyn Coulter 33rd in
20.11, Ben Usher 48th in 21.32, Faith Jackson-Lee 49th in 21.32 (PB), Holly
Nairn 111th in 24.33 (PB), Louise Kedge 114th in 24.44 (PB) and Hannah Cox 146th
in 26.11.

At Windermere parkrun in Cumbria Daniel Jephcott finished in 4th place out of
272 finishers in 19.41.

At Bishop’s Stortford parkrun Paul Dixon finished in 79th place out of 267
finishers in 23.53 and Martin McColgan was 82nd in 23.55.

At the Gunpowder parkrun at Waltham Abbey Debbie Barry finished in 47th place
out of 163 finishers in 25.37.

At Harwich parkrun Brenda Clayton finished in 60th place out of 107 finishers in

At Cleland parkrun near Adelaide in Australia Jason Haigh finished in 12th place
out of 37 finishers in 29.41.

At Great Yarmouth parkrun Terasa Holden finished in 239th place out of 328
finishers in 31.57.
