Harlow Judo Club: Success at the Leisurezone

HARLOW Judo Club hosted its annual under16 12th mon & below competition held at the Leisurezone. It was well attended with Clubs travelling from as far as West Sussex to Stevenage so it was bound to be a very competitive day.

Harlow JC entered 16 players ranging from novice competitors to the very experienced players and they all did not let the Club down – they all returned victorious bringing back an array of different coloured medals.
In the Red & Yellow belt section, Gold medals were won by Izzie Germaine (11), Eli Balski (8), Robert Badaru (8), George Franks (11).

Silver medals were won by Sofia Kafas (10) and Bronze medals were claimed by Millie Morgan (8), Rennay Richardson (8), Ramy Mamouri (10), Thomas Norman (10), Jack Loft (9), Harry Franks (10), Fionn Healy (12) and David Franks-Whelan (12)

Later on in the day, in the Orange to Green belt section, Gold medals were won by Giacomo Misuraca (15) and Jake Salhi (13) and a Silver was won by Owen Lambert (12).

Head Coach, Mick Ellis, with assistance from Thomas Lambert, coached the team throughout the day at the 3 mat event and said that it was a magnificent excellent haul of medals with success continuing from the previous week. For those players new to competing, as well as medaling, they all gained valuable competition experience.

The Club caters for those with special needs and has a coach specifically for this area.
