In the top-level grade 6 event, Burnt Mill student, Brooke Walker (13) earned the overall 1st place trophy after placing 1st on both vault and bars as well as 3rd on beam. Next on the podium, receiving the silver medal, Florrie Gee (13) also placed 2nd on beam and 3rd on both vault and floor. Holly Montague (13) was awarded the overall bronze medal and placed 1st on floor and second on beam. Just missing out on a podium place, St Nicholas student, Saffron Hoskin (13) placed 2nd on floor and won the overall 4th place rosette. Shannah Stacey (11) secured the 5th place rosette and placed 1st on bars. Narrowly behind, teammate Millie Upton (13) placed 8th overall in the same event.

Further joy in the grade 2 age 10-11 event for William Martin Primary pupil Yasmine Thong (10). After placing 3rd on vault, Yasmine gained the 6th place overall rosette.

In the grade 2 age 8-9 competition, Brooke Hayzelden (9), Elizabeth Chung (9), Emily Pask (8) and Harriet Pask (8) placed 15th, 16th, 19th & 21st respectively.

Ellie Kenway (12), Mia Brine (9) Lily Gray(11) and Evie Lees (10) placed 13th, 19th, 21st and 23rd overall, respectively, earning their grade 5 award.
Meeting the mark; Elena Dumitriu (11), Yasmin Akram (10), Emily Price (10), Matilda Cook (10), Scarlett Chart (10), Olivia Eustace (12), Kira Henson (9) and Mia Blackall (11) secured their grade 4 certificates.

Coach Belinda Macintosh said, “the girls were amazing with everyone passing their grades and taking home the gold, silver and bronze in grade 6, they have all worked so hard for this competition and I am so proud of them all”

Sweeping the board in Colchester, Harlow Gymnastics club scooped the top 5 positions in the highest category at the Essex Recreational grade competition. All 23 gymnasts from the club passed their respective grades.
