Harlow Council reassure residents “Your bins will be collected” after contract chaos

HARLOW Council has gone on the record to reassure residents that their bins will be collected despite a major problem with their waste contract.

Portfolio holder, cllr Danny Purton issued an urgent statement at a meeting of the ruling Labour cabinet at Harlow Council on Thursday night.

As you can see from our film below,, cllr Purton explains why one of the major contracts Harlow Council negotiates appears to have broken down and has to be re-negotiated.

Deputy leader of the Harlow Conservatives, cllr Joel Charles, quizzed the portfolio holder and expressed a number of concerns including whether there was a risk that residents bins would be collected.

Cllr Purton and acting leader of Harlow Council, cllr Emma Toal reassured residents that they would.
