MP Robert Halfon: “Harlow residents will benefit from energy price cap”

News / Tue 27th Feb 2018 am28 08:49am

HARDWORKING Harlow residents will benefit from energy bill price cap, following ongoing campaign by Robert Halfon MP

Today (26 February), Robert Halfon, MP for Harlow, welcomed Theresa May’s announcement about the introduction of a cap on energy bills. Robert Halfon has been campaigning to cut the cost of living for hardworking Harlow residents since he became MP in 2010. This price cap will cut energy costs, leaving more money in the pockets of hundreds of hardworking Harlow residents.

The Government will introduce legislation on Monday 26 February to cap poor value energy tariffs. This follows a commitment by the Prime Minister last year to take action if the Big Six energy providers – who earn £1.4billion per year from unnecessary high tariffs – did not cut their unfair bills. It is hoped that the cap will take effect from next winter.

Robert Halfon said: “I have worked hard to get the Government to cut the cost of living for hardworking Harlow residents and their families. I’m glad to say that the Prime Minister has announced a cap for the hundreds of Harlow households on unfair standard energy tariffs. I’ll continue to work hard to cut the cost of living, particularly through cuts to energy costs and hospital car parking charges.”

An energy price cap was originally suggested by Ed Miliband during the 2010 election. David Cameron suggested the idea was taken from "A Marxist Universe" (!) Cameron also suggested that Miliband would form a "coalition of chaos". Energy price cap, 1 Billion pounds and an extremist Northern Irish Coalition of chaos later I bet hes in his shed thinking "Funny how things work out isnt it?" Unless of course this is your government. Then its not funny at all.

You can waffle on as much as you like, but, it never will alter the fact that the last LABOUR administration almost bankrupted this country due to their incapability to get their figures right. Labour spend but Tories mend. Who understands our finances best ? Corbsky admires the Russians, their policies took that country almost to the brink of financial extinction and Corbsky and his crew would love to do the same here. V L at your P.
