Gilston 3

EASTWICK and Gilston Parish Council has asked East Herts Council to carry out a Community Governance Review of the number of parish councillors.

A Community Governance Review (CGR) is a legal process where the council asks residents and other interested parties to give their views about the most suitable parish areas and/or electoral arrangements to represent their local community.

The Eastwick and Gilston Parish Council has requested an increase from six to seven parish councillors because of the growth in the number of electors resulting from the Terlings Park development in Gilston Parish.

The initial six week consultation is running from March 19 to April 27.

Full details including a consultation leaflet are on the website here: www.eastherts.gov.uk/consultations or available at the council offices

You can provide your views or send in queries by:

· Completing the online form at www.eastherts.gov.uk/consultations

· Email to: [email protected]; or

· Writing to: Electoral Services, East Herts Council, Wallfields, Pegs Lane, Hertford, Herts, SG13 8EQ

Recommendations will be published for a further eight week consultation this summer, with a final decision expected in the autumn. ENDS
