THE Leader of Harlow Council has praised Princess Alexandra Hospital after a report by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has taken the Harlow hospital out of special measures.

Councillor Emma Toal, Leader of Harlow Council, said: “I welcome today’s news that the town’s hospital is now out of special measures and is making improvements. This is both good news for the dedicated and hardworking hospital staff and for Harlow.

We are very proud of our hospital and the work that all the staff do from the nurses and doctors to support and admin staff. The improvements in less than 18 months are significant given the challenging circumstances and pressures the hospital and its staff work under.

“We are committed to working together with the hospital trust, the Government and others to secure the investment needed to fund and provide a new modern hospital fit for the future.”
