Athletics: Veteran Dawn makes it to European Masters

HARLOW AC member, Dawn Jones, ran at the European Masters in Madrid, 21 March. She was in the quicker of the two heats and her time of 2.41.12 mins was not enough to see her progress to the final. The times were ranked in an aggregate list and she was twelfth overall.

Simona Prunea, of Italy was the winner in a time of 2.36.65 minutes and the first Briton home was Claire Constable, from Pembroke and Sefton, in a time of 2.38.54 mins and she was fifth overall.

Following the race, club chair Steve Lott said; “It’s fantastic that Dawn is still getting out and competing and to a good standard. She is an inspiration to our younger members and especially to the group that she has been coaching for the past eighteen months.”
