IN response to media reports that Harlow MP, Robert Halfon claims to have been subject to anti-semitism “from parts of the Left” whilst in the town centre, Harlow Labour today said that as a Party, it is 100% against any form of racism, including anti-semitism.
Harlow Labour Party Chair, Charlie Cochrane said today; “Let us be absolutely clear about this: Harlow Labour will not tolerate anti-semitism or any kind of racism towards any group or individual and we work hard to ensure that as a Party, we behave in a way which is inclusive and respectful.
“If Robert Halfon has been subject to the kind of abuse he claims to have suffered at the hands of an individual who is a member of the Labour Party, we will investigate the matter fully and take it extremely seriously. We welcome specific details of the incident from Mr Halfon so that we may progress the matter.
“If however, the alleged abuse has been carried out by an individual who is not a member or affiliated to the Labour Party there is clearly nothing we can do, beyond our continuous efforts to campaign against racism.
“Last Saturday a coach load from Harlow Labour travelled to London to participate in the Stand Up to Racism rally, for example. “
My sentiments exactly, an accusation like this should be backed up with facts in order to not be potentially libellous. But then, facts have always been the enemy of any Tory government. This one is flailing around, trying desperately to distract the electorate from the mess its making of the country, just like all the rest, and to use something as vile as this is unfortunately no surprise at all. It's merely what we've come to expect. Change can't come soon enough.
A drab poster from the lefties to add to the dubious denial of anti-semitic views, aired by the hierarchy. Anyone been to P A H lately ? For a group that's allegedly short of funds, they appear to have found some. The amount of refurbishment is an absolute denial of LABOUR's accusations that the group is starved of funds. VOTE LABOUR at YOUR PERIL.
Once again, if you have proof of antisemitism from the hierarchy, let's see it. Otherwise it could be libellous. PAH is just out of special measures, by sheer dint of the hard work of its staff under immense pressure from a government with privatisation zealotry on the brain. Trying to undermine Labour at the last election didn't work, the Tories are suffering from the twin terrors of an ageing Conservative base and an emerging younger generation more interested and clued in than ever before about their future and politics. Real, positive change is coming.
Harlow Labour Party are proud to say we have an affiliation from JLM (Jewish Labour Movement) and discussed this topic at the time of Labour Party enquiry into antisemitism. There have been no reported incidents in over 40 years.
Proof of anti-semitic activity, are you joking ? Forever opposing truthful comment on the basis that REDS are right and the rest of us are out of touch,JFQ and TuTu. The head of the Labour party disputes committee, is suspended, for supporting an holocaust denial activist. You both need to get out more. VOTE LABOUR at your PERIL.
Micky is clearly unfamiliar with the theory that the definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over and expect a different result. AT YOUR PERIL! We get out enough, thank you very much. Every weekend talking to residents about their concerns, taking part in protests and nobody, but nobody, asks about antisemitism. Everywhere you get a few bad apples, nobody is denying that. Like, let's say, the Conservative recently using the N word. But to defame an entire party is not only wrong but potentially libellous.
More obfuscation from jfq, as usual. Whenever the REDS get caught out, too often, they always revert to waffle. The dreaded word "n", never happened, it was conjured up by the REDS to denigrate the Tories. Libellous !!!!!! After your constant attacks on who, or whatever, perhaps you and your momentum mob should calm down a bit. There may be trouble ahead. Why are your visiting team never seen in Old Harlow and Churchgate Street ? VOTE for MOMENTUM at your PERIL. Just for you.
