2018 Sportif International Tournament – UEL, London

OWEN Lambert (12) was Harlow Judo Club’s representative at one of the most prestigious and toughest events in the Judo Calendar. This event is normally held in Scotland but this year, it was held at the UEL, London. With players attending from Canada, USA, Australia, Germany, France, Spain, Hungary, Slovakia, Norway, Sweden, Denmark as well as the Home countries and Ireland, it was going to be a great day of Judo. As such, this Tournament is always very well attended and oversubscribed. This high level event is split into Age banded, Pre-Cadets, Cadets, and Junior categories.

Owen (12) competed in the Pre-Cadet section where players are born in the years 2004-2005. He won his first fight with a superb Ippon throw and having put in a great performance by winning all but one fight, he took a well-earned Bronze medal, sharing the podium with Canada and Ireland. The standard of Judo was extremely high but then so was the level of Event.
