Northern Home Counties Red Belt Rumble – High Wycombe

HARLOW Judo Club took a team of 11 young inexperienced and experienced players to High Wycombe to compete in the Northern Home Counties Red Belt Rumble competition.

Judo Club

Today’s team consisted of Eli Balski, (9), David Franks-Whelan (12), Ramy Mamouri (11), Sorin Petrica (12), George Franks (11), Thomas Norman (11), Harry Franks (10), Sofia Kafas (10), Millie Morgan (9), Izzie Germaine (11), and Robert Badaru (9). They represented the Club in a competition which is always well attended by very good Clubs in and out of the Northern Home Counties area. All players are grouped according to grade and weight and whilst all Harlow players fought very hard in their respective categories, the groups were big and faced stiff competition. There were some good techniques from everyone – even from the novice players, still new to competition.

Gold medals went to Izzie, Sorin and George, Silver medals to Sofia and Millie, Bronze medals to Ramy, Thomas and Robert and Participation medals to Eli, David and Harry.

Coach Mick Ellis said “I am very pleased with my team today – Sorin displayed great techniques despite being new to competitions and the girls, I thought placed very well – in fact, the whole team competed very well.”

The Club caters for those with special needs and has a Coach specifically for this area. Please contact the Club for more details. They are based in Foldcroft, Harlow, CM20 1SE.
