East Region National Grades 15th April 2018
A creditable performance by two gymnasts from Harlow gymnastics club at the prestigious East Region National Grades competition in Pipers Vale, Ipswich. This is the first time the club has been represented at this elite event, competing against top-flight gymnasts from premier clubs across Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex.
Miley Shulton celebrated her 10th birthday by placing 26th overall in the grade 4 event. Competing in the same event, nine-year-old Millie Lynch placed 30th overall.
The grade 4 competition was open age and both gymnasts received a pass with commendation, which is an incredible achievement as they were the youngest gymnasts in the event.
Head Girls Coach and club co-owner Gordon Mitchell said he was delighted to have gymnasts compete at national level, they performed brilliantly against the best gymnasts in the East Region and he was very proud of them both. Squad coach Kerrie added that the girls were the youngest age allowed to attempt the grade so it was a great achievement for them both.
