HARLOW MP Robert Halfon welcomes announcement that Harlow will receive £260,000 to support rough sleepers.
Today, Communities Secretary, the Rt Hon James Brokenshire MP, announced a £30 million Rough Sleeping Initiative.
Harlow Council put in a bid for £260,500 to further its rough sleeping work over the next year. Today, this funding was granted.
Robert Halfon said: “I welcome the Government’s announcement today that Harlow Council will receive over £260,000 to support its work on rough sleeping. I work hard everyday for Harlow residents and I’ve worked closely with Streets2Homes over the years. I’m very glad Harlow Council has received this funding to support the most vulnerable in the town next winter.”
Bandwagon Bob's at it again. As far as I understand it, the securing of cash for the homeless is down to the efforts and hard work of the portfolio holder Cllr Wilkinson and the council.
Bandwagon Bob likes to tell you he's the caring sharing type, like above. It's all very glossy and nice. But in reality his voting record often tells a different story. For example, he consistently voted against benefit rises in line with food prices for those in most need. He also voted for the hated Bedroom Tax. And he almost always voted for a reduction in spending on benefits. https://www.theyworkforyou.com/mp/24784/robert_halfon/harlow/votes But I'll give him a few ideas on how to "modernise" his party, a phrase he's so fond of. I think they should immediately change their slogan to: "The Conservative Party. At Least Dick Turpin Wore A Mask."
