Harlow CC Match reports 21st July 2018

Five and Heronians 1st XI 325/8 beat Harlow CC 140 a.o

HARLOW 1st XI suffered a huge defeat away to Five & Heronians. Captained by Ryan Jessey in the absence of regular skipper Rehman Ahmed, having won the toss Harlow elected to field. Even though they managed to generally take wickets at steady rate they were torn apart by Fives Skipper Jake Poulter with both bat and ball. Poulter scoring 134 finally bowled by Luke Monger who took four wickets for 50 runs off eight overs. Nicky Baxter took two wickets for 60 runs from 10 overs, otherwise generally no bowler figures where good to look at with Harlow hit for 325 from 50 overs. Conceding an average of 6.5 runs per over.

In reply it was no better for Harlow who failed with the bat being bowled out for 140 in 27 overs. Poulter again main man taking 4 wickets for 38 off 10 overs. Wickets fell quickly with top four none hitting double figures and three taken by Fives skipper. Young batsman Max Baulcomb promoted due to his good form with the bat for 2nd XI topped scored with 39 embarrassing more experienced players. Only two other players hit double figures, Nicky Baxter with 25 and tail ender Jake Messenger with 26, other top scorer was extras with 20. Harlow CC now sit bottom of the table alongside local rivals Harlow Town currently 17 points from safety. Unless there is a huge upturn in form, it is beginning to look like a double relegation for Harlow CC 1st XI.

Harlow 2nd XI lost to Buckhurst Hill 2nd XI.

From their allocated 45 overs Harlow scored 233-9 but Buckhurst scored 244-6 to win by 11 runs having batted first. Currently sit in lower half of the table needing a win or two as are four points off relegation spot in a tight league

Better news for both 3rd and 4th XI who both had wins.

3rd XI beat Harold Wood 3rd XI Put into bat Harlow scored 265-7 from 45 overs. They were never really in trouble, Dipendra Basnet and James Coldwell scored 66 and 59 respectively. Simon Baulcomb (43) and Jake Hitematshah(23) also contributing with the bat.
Bowling Harlow had Harold Wood at 25-3, before eventually bowling them all out for 203 runs. Tyler Dobson was pick of bowlers taking 5-28, with Amir Farooq 3-32 and Jake Hitematshah 2-52. Currently sitting comfortably midtable.

4th XI beat Oakfield Parks 3rd XI. Electing to bat they put on 243-8 from 45 overs. Top scorers were Rizwan Qayyum and Haider Rasool both scoring 52 but Rasool not out. Other contributions were Mashood Iqbal(38) and Mustafa Shah(28). Bowling Harlow had Oakfield all out for 220 in 41 overs. Dennis Perry taking 5-40 off 8 overs, Mashood Iqbal 2-35, with three other players taking remaining wickets. Currently in lower half but plenty of points clear of relegation.
