Bid to demolish garages up before Planning Committee
Planning / Sun 19th Aug 2018 am31 10:24am
PLANS to demolish garages off Commonside Road are up before the Harlow Council planning committee.
The details are as follows:
Garage Blocks 19-52 The Readings, Harlow
Demolition of Garage Blocks and Associated Hard-Surfacing and Construction of 2 No. Accessible Bungalows and 1 No. Terraced Dwelling.
There have been a number of objections.
The concerns raised can be summarised as follows:
– Increased parking problems
– Construction works would cause congestion/parking problems
In addition to the two letters of objection, a neutral representation has been received, seeking confirmation that access to the bowling club compound to the west of the site would not be adversely impacted.
The application will be heard on Wednesday night (7.30pm) at the Civic Offices.
If this goes a hard the first thong that should be done is more parking should be put in place. Harlow is in dire need of parking spaces. It's no good building more and more residential properties without putting adequate parking spaces in place.
Access to the bowling club? Surely that is via The Latton Bush Centre or are bowlers climbing over fences to get in there?
