Horndon on the Hill CC 1st XI 203-8 beat Harlow CC 1st XI 97 all out
Harlow crashed to defeat by 108 runs in a bottom table clash to leave them requiring a miracle to avoid relegation possibly at the hands of local rivals Harlow Town. Having won the toss Harlow elected to field knowing what would be required of them to win the game batting second. Horndon scored slowly putting on 203 losing eight wickets in an innings reduced to 48 overs. Three bowlers took two wickets, Nicky Baxter (2-51), Waheed Azam (2-31) and Mitchell Howarde (2-48). Andre Riddell, keeping, made four catches to aid the wicket taking.
Batting in reply, needing just over four an over, Harlow batsman failed being bowled out for just 97. A 28 from Nicky Baxter was the highest score, with Lee Jessey (23) and Rehman Ahmed (17) only ones to achieve doubles and with three players failing to score a run Harlow were bowled out in 31.4 overs.
Harlow CC 2nd XI 87-3 beat Old Southendian & Southchurch CC 2nd XI 86-9
Harlow 2nd XI beat bottom of the table Old Souths with ease dismissing them for just 86 runs. Winning the toss they put them into bat and Joe Riddell took two early wickets. And finished with figures of 2-17. Bowling carried on and the Old Souths batsman no troubled Harlow bowlers. Other wicket takers were Soulat Ali (4-25) and Jake Messenger (3-18).
Batting Harlow only took 12.3 overs to get required runs to win losing three wickets in the process. Zabi Hakimi top scored with 40 not out. Harlow 2nd XI still need to pick up some points in their remaining two matches against the two top sides to ensure safety and avoid relegation sitting currently 16 points clear.
Harlow CC 3rd XI 228 all out beat Chelmsford CC 3rd XI 174 all out.
Harlow 3rd XI won convincingly against Chelmsford. Having won the toss they elected to bat. They lost and early wicket but Dipendra Basnet (72) and Mashood Iqbal (63) contributed with the bat to see them too 228 bowled out in 50 overs.
Bowling in reply Harlow took wickets at a steady pace Chelmsford top scorer with bat only getting 29. Amir Farooq (6-42) and Tyler Dobson (3-48) where only wicket takers with a run out to dismiss them all for 174.
Orsett & Thurrock CC 3rd XI 120-1 beat Harlow CC 4th XI 115 all out
Harlow 4th XI were well beaten to leave them still fighting relegation. Put into bat by Orsett only Denis Perry (35 not out) and Harry Burton (21) offered much resistance to Orsett bowling as they were all out for just 115 in 40.3 overs.
In reply Orsett lost just one wicket bowled Faisal Javed to finish on 120-1 in just 18.3 overs.
Thorley CC 2nd XI 235-6 beat Harlow CC 5th XI 156 all out.
A Harlow 5th XI featuring a mixture of young and old lost to Thorley in HECL league 5th Division. Thorley batting first scored 235 from their 40 overs. Harlow were then bowled out for 156, Thomas Vullo (54) top scored with Adam Hoskins (27).
