A private-equity backed communications company has acquired a counterpart after recently raising £75m to fund its expansion reports InsiderMedia.Com

Wavenet, which has offices in Solihull, Warrington and Norfolk, has announced the deal for Solar Communications which has bases in Manchester, Chippenham, Cardiff and Harlow.

The deal comes after Wavenet, which is backed by Beech Tree Private Equity, secured a new £75m debt facility from Ares Management and RBS.

Solar brings on-premise engineering skills to the group and has accreditations in SD WAN, and UC services which it supplies directly to SME and mid-market businesses across the UK.

Together, the group will now service nearly 10,000 UK business customers.
