Great success for Harlow Jiu Jitsu at National Champs

HARLOW Jiu Jitsu have just been to the British National Championships, held in Walsall.

Sensei Dave Rintoul, Sensei Luke Shipwright and four junior students, Layla Stevens, Bobby Stevens, Keiran McGuinness and Ben Taylor, took part.

Sensei Dave was acting as a referee and judge, whilst Sensei Luke and students entered the competitions.

There was great sucess. This was down to the hard work from all students and great coaching of the juniors by Sensei Luke.

The results were:

Sensei Luke Shipwright…GOLD…Continuous fighting…over 100kg

Layla Stevens…GOLD…Continuous fighting…..under 52kg…12-13 yrs
SILVER….Random Attacks……Brown belt…..12-13yrs

Ben Taylor ……..GOLD……Random Attacks…….Purple belt……11-12yrs
BRONZE…Continuous fighting…over 41kg……10-11yrs

Bobby Stevens…SILVER….Continuous fighting…over 41kg……..10-11yrs
BRONZE…Random Attacks…..Green belt…….11yrs

Keiran McGuinness…BRONZE.. Continuous fighting…under 40kg…12-13yrs
BRONZE…Random Attacks….Purple belt…….11-12yrs

Not a bad result for a small club!!

Sensei Dave would like to thank Sensei Luke and the students, for all their hard work and dedication.

He would also like to thank all the parents for their continued support, of their children and the club.
