A MAJOR flood-prevention operation has been going on in Nicholls Field since late June.

At the time it was stated that it would take eleven weeks. That means it should end next week however it looks like there is still plenty of work going on.

With no floods on the field, local sceptics have wondered if there are other long term plans for the large green area?

A couple of years ago, the whole area was heavily sanded in preparation for football however since then there has hardly been any competitive football there but that does not mean football, might not return to the area.
