MILLIE Morgan (9) representing Harlow judo club competed in the Micklefield Judo Green Belt & Under Competition held in High Wycombe. Millie won gold in the under 36kg category. Competing with 5 other girls from a mixed group including yellow belts (up to 6th mon), being only a 2nd mon herself, she faced heavier competitors  from the under-represented u40kg section.

Millie won all 5 of her fights, 2 with an Ippon score and 3 by partial scores and hold downs. The gold medal match, against another fighter who had beaten Millie on four previous occasions, was a particularly impressive win. The fight lasted all of 10 seconds as Millie performed a huge counter throw from her opponent’s first attack to score a dramatic Ippon and take the contest.
