EPPING visited their local rivals Harlow on a bright Sunday morning, the game kicked off with Epping making the stronger start.
Good pressure from the forwards gave Epping good clean ball that the backs made good ground with but simple mistakes, knock on’s and forward passes, didn’t see Epping convert the pressure in to points.
Harlow’s pack was strong and their direct forward game didn’t trouble the Epping defensive line. Eventually the pressure prevailed with a good forward drive and a strong finish by Kaylum.
Epping again were strong from the restart but were finding it difficult to score with some white line fever we should have scored more points. Epping’s possession was dominant and the forwards again produced good phases of ball and Patch went over for Epping’s second try – 0-10 HT.
The second half started and Harlow came back into the game with more possession however a back breakaway saw Harry score Epping’s third try converted by Jack Mc.
Harlow never gave up and pressure from their forward line and some missed tackles from Epping allowed Harlow to score.
Epping finished the game stronger with more decisive runs and carries from all of the team, allowing Jack Mc to score Epping’s final try. Epping dominated the first half but the second half was more equal.
