Harlow’s community farm members star in Christmas advert

TO help inject some Christmas spirit to local communities across the nation, rural energy provider Calor has created a warm and engaging social video focusing on the many different projects its annual funding scheme has helped over the past two years.

Local stars from Herts & Essex Community Farm in Harlow feature in the video, in part to say thank you to everyone who voted for them to receive a £1,000 grant from the Calor Rural Community Fund, which funded the creation of a safe, reliable and permanent barbeque area for use during the many community events that the farm organises throughout the year.

Founded in 2013, the Herts & Essex Community Farm was created on an abandoned allotment site to provide a community growing space for the Harlow area. Run as a non-profit organisation, the farm now offers half an acre of growing space and last year grew over 1.5 tonnes of produce. Aside from working alongside local schools and educating the local community on the importance of sustainable growing, the farm also supplies a local homeless charity and community café with fresh produce.
