Harlow MP Robert Halfon blames Labour over another Brexit stalemate in House of Commons

News / Sat 19th Oct 2019 at 08:19pm

HARLOW MP Robert Halfon has slammed the Labour Party over events that took place in the House of Commons today (Saturday).

Mr Halfon said: “Today, I voted to back Boris Johnson and ensure that we leave the EU on October 31st.

“I want to get Brexit done, but unfortunately arch-Remainers in Parliament led by Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn, voted to delay Brexit yet again.

“The Labour Party want more delay and want to ignore the result of 2016 and have a second referendum.

Emily Thornberry MP, Labour Foreign Affairs Spokesman, today described, the UK as a “Remain Country’.

In short Labour are determined to wreck Brexit . Do Harlow Labour agree with Jeremy Corbyn’s plan for a second referendum? Are they Brexit wreckers too? Harlow residents deserve answers.

I have voted at every opportunity to deliver on that vote. We must get Brexit over the line so that we can fulfil the democratic vote of the people of Harlow who voted to leave in 2016.

We have a good deal on the table negotiated by the Prime Minister with the EU. We get back control of our laws, borders and money. It is time to get Brexit done.

Brexit in and most definitely, the deceitful Socialists out, before too long. What a double-dyed shower they are.

I feel obligated to point out that this new deal is in fact the old EU preferred deal but worse. "In February 2018, the European Commission published a draft Withdrawal Agreement which, to deliver the backstop, proposed keeping Northern Ireland within the EU customs territory and ‘common regulatory area’ covering goods and sanitary and phytosanitary regulations. This approach, a ‘Northern Ireland specific’ backstop, would require customs and regulatory checks between Great Britain and Northern Ireland if it ever came into force." This what conservatives said back then when it was offered by the EU in 2018 "Former Brexit minister David Jones told BBC Radio 4's Today programme the EU was proposing that Northern Ireland stay in the customs union, and subject to the jurisdiction of the European Court of Justice. That effectively amounts to an annexure of Northern Ireland by the European Union," he said, adding: "I think that it would be pretty catastrophic and I think that the European Union in actually proposing this is behaving wholly irresponsibly." This week: Former Brexit minister David Jones has told BBC Wales that he will be supporting Boris Johnson's deal to leave the European Union.

The usual nonsense that insults my integrity. For example Mr. Halfon states: "We get back control of our laws, borders and money." When did we lose control of these? We haven't and never have! And then as if rehearsed: " It is time to get Brexit done." If we leave, Brexit will not be done for at least a decade. As I said before Mr. Halfon is showing signs of tiredness and deflation, sadly.

"HARLOW MP Robert Halfon has slammed the Labour Party over events that took place in the House of Commons today (Saturday)." Why blame the Labour party? The motion was submitted by /Conservative/ MP Sir Oliver Letwin. The motion passed by 26 votes. These 26 were the DUP, who Boris' has thrown under a big red bus with somthing written on the side. The most of the rest of the 26 were some of the Conservatives who Boris has thrown out of his own party. The motion passed purely because of the actions of Prime Minister Clown himself.

No, I can’t accept that it’s completely the fault of Labour. There’s been a number of failings by the conservative government throughout these 3 years. Most laughably this has been a labour opposition that given the personnel are also anti EU. It was also in the manifesto to deliver it. So overall labour haven’t blocked it. The mechanisms of the deal and lack of control over ones own party are where the failings really lie. Also it wasn’t just labour voting against it. So this is more pointless political point scoring rather than dealing with the real issues

Let's say it as it is - ALL the established political parties are to blame. They are full of self serving MP's (Mr Halfon?) who do not want us to leave the EU. They are not concerned about Democracy if they were we would have left by now. They're all about the money, money...…. (and power of course.) To anyone who truly wants to leave the EU - The Brexit Party is the only way to go. All this manufactured smoke and mirror stuff cannot negate the fact that The majority of those (who actually got of their backsides and bothered to vote) did indeed vote Leave.

The UK Parliament sat on a Saturday for the first time since Mrs. Thatcher took this country to war in 1982. An unnecessary sitting as it turned out but one that just proved that this government will defy any rules or laws just to achieve making the lives of our citizens even worse, if that is possible, after nine years of austerity. However, if it proved anything it is that parliament for all its faults can challenge the mendacious and abusive executive who are so incompetent and arrogant as to believe they can do and say anything without censure. Saturday proved they cannot: thankfully. Mr. Halfon take note.

More deranged assessments from " the Dinosaur ". Does he mean that we should have ignored the Argentian invasion of the Falklands ? Austerity was caused because of Bliar and Brown spending every penny that they could get their mucky paws on. Democracy doesn't exist in the UK, or hasn't been noticed as it's being ignored by the Lefties, even the toady Steptoe, who originally agreed to leave, has changed his mind again. Perhaps he would be better off ignoring the Leave question and sorted out the rampant racism that exists in the so called, Labour group. Poverty awaits with a Socialist in No 10.

If this government in its lack of understanding of the criminal justice system introduced a Act of Parliament outlining its plans to create an offence of "defamation of language skills and their use", MickyB77 would be among the first to be found guilty joined thereafter in Belmarsh by his mate Mr. Johnson with a 10 year stretch for numerous offences. MickyB77 if you cant put an argument forward to justify your nonsense, perhaps your Tory mates would consider you as their press agent: lets hope so!

For the sake of truth, B J was advised and counselled by two of the top government barristers around, as to whether or not his actions were, legal and lawful, he was advised in the affirmative. Gary, you obviously, by your language are well acquainted with with nefarious characters, so, perhaps you cannot quite grasp that if B J had actually acted un-lawfully ,he would have been visited by her majesty's finest. So,ergo, arrests must surely follow. confused.com or what ?

"For the sake of truth, B J was advised and counselled by two of the top government barristers around" Not often you see "Boris Johnson" and "truth" together with out the words "not telling the" together. Top government barristers? One would probably have been Geoffrey "Bexit Codpiece" Cox, the Chris Grayling of Brexit legal advise. I'm not sure who you think the other one is, but I suspect the other "advisor" has a name that rhymes with Cominic Dummings.

Yet again, no substance from saucy kt. It'a almost farcical, kt accuses the Tories of all things, yet stands firmly behind that hopeless plot changer, " Steptoe", if that's her idea of a politician whose up to speed ? If you don't know who or what kt, keep schtum. another confused.com Pairs well with "the dinosaur", oy vay.

MickyB77 I would be very careful what you say about this issue because libel actions are very expensive to defend. I would also refer you to the Editor's warning to this comments page on, inter alia, abuse.
