Man in his eighties in hospital after serious collision near Harlow Town Centre

The road closure following a collision in Third Avenue, Harlow, has now been lifted.
A man aged in his 80s remains in hospital.
Essex Police would like to thank locals and drivers in the area for their patience this morning.
1200 hrs
The road closure has now been extended, and now runs up to the junction of Abercrombie Way.
We continue to ask drivers to avoid the area and thank you for your continued patience.
Update: 1130hrs
Third Avenue is still closed from Haydens Road to the Asda roundabout.
Thi has now been extended to Abercrombie Way.
No access to Water Gardens car park

Update from Essex Police
We are currently at the scene of a serious collision on Third Avenue, Harlow.
The road is closed at the roundabout with Haydens Road in one direction, which is towards the roundabout at Second Avenue and Velizy Avenue.
A single car, a black Audi A6, is believed to have been in collision with a lamppost at around 9.05am this morning, Wednesday 20 November.
The occupant, a man in his 80s, has been taken to hospital. The extent of his injuries are unknown at this time.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area where possible.
Anyone who witnessed the collision who has not yet spoke to our officers is asked to call 101 and quote incident 237 of today’s date.
