ON Sunday 29th March, Hayley Coles from Harlow will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in aid of Accuro, a charity that provides clubs and services to Adults and Children with disabilities in West Essex.
Hayley said, “I am running my first London Landmarks Half Marathon for Accuro because they are a local charity that helps my son. Harrison absolutely loves his time at his Monday “Cool Connections” club and school holiday clubs provided by Accuro, it gives him the opportunity to socialise and take part in activities and gain confidence.”
The Half Marathon is a 13 mile route passing through the City of London and Westminster passing landmarks such as the London Eye, Nelson’s Column, St Pauls Cathedral and The Shard.
Accuro’s Community Fundraiser, Chloe Salisbury said, “Sponsored Challenges are an amazing way to fundraise and to raise awareness of our charity. It goes without saying also that they take a lot of time, commitment and energy, so we’re incredibly grateful to Hayley for taking on the challenge!”
The charity, whose head office is based in Bishop’s Stortford, provides opportunities for Adults, Young People and Children with a disability to socialise, develop new skills and build confidence.
Chloe said, “At a time where fundraising and awareness is so crucial for charities, having the families of our club members involved in events such as this one means a great deal to us. The awareness from an event like this could mean reaching more people who could make use of our services, which is what it’s all about for us.”
