AN ACTOR from Harlow has joined a number of famous actors in a project to save a famous London theatre.
The Sonnet Project features actors such as Oscar winner Olivia Coleman reciting a particular sonnet.
Former St Mark’s pupil, Theo Ancient has recited Sonnet 114.
The reject is part of a fund-raising drive to help save Jermyn Street Theatre.
A spokesperson said: “Jermyn Street Theatre’s doors are closed. As a small charity, these are financially catastrophic times. We lost huge sums when we closed, and because we get no regular grant, our income has been slashed by 95%.
“We’re the smallest producing theatre in the West End – we rent our building and have small cash reserves. And (although there’s insurance for floods, if not plagues), our much-loved archives, technical stores and dressing rooms were destroyed by a huge flood in early April”.
