Last day for self employed to claim for government grant

EVERYONE’S favourite Money Saving Expert has issued an urgent warning to people for them to claim a government grant before its too late.

In his latest show Martin Lewis urged viewers to act quickly as there are still people who are yet to claim a £7,500 coronavirus grant from the government.

The closing date for the applications is fast approaching as people only have until midnight tonight to apply (July 13), viewers of Martin Lewis Money Show on ITV heard.

The money is available to those who are self-employed and only 2.7 million of the 3.5 million eligible have applied so far during the pandemic.

On the show he said: “After Monday – no go, can’t happen.

“The key question is if your business has been affected,” he said, giving advice to self-employed Brits.

“So if you can put your hand on your hearts and say, yes, it’s been worse, then sign the declaration, get the money.”

If you do think you could be entitled, you can check on HMRC’s eligibility tool and arrange an application appointment.
