Athletics: Harlow runners keep on running

Athletics / Wed 15th Jul 2020 at 11:58am

THIS has been a challenging time for runners. Most are sociable creatures and enjoy running with friends as well as the whole social scene.

Many people have taken up running over the last few years for the good of their mental health and it has worked wonders for them.

It has been great to see people out running. Please keep it up!

Many have missed all the races over the summer. From 5 kilometre parkruns to the 26.2 miles of the marathon.

There are also runners who, despite the lockdown and have achieved personal bests. We asked members of the ParkrunandBeyond group if they had achieved any personal bests.

Lee Wood: A 5k time of 17.23 over at Gunpowder Mills.

Greg Tye: A mile time of 4.47

Emma Elven: 5k time of 26.14 and 10k time of 54.14

Anna Robyn: 112 miles on the bike as part of triathlon training.

Darren Coates: 140 miles in a week.

Steve Osman: 10K PB in 50.35

Theresa Burke: 10K: 1.03.57

Olivia Beresford: 10k in 59.54

Well done to you all.
