Parish council brings forward launch date for ‘face-to-face administrative centre’ at The Parish Hall, Thornwood Common

NORTH Weald Bassett Parish Council is bringing forward the date it will launch its new ‘face-to-face administrative centre’ at The Parish Hall, Thornwood Common.

It had been agreed that the new facility would open on September 14 however following Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s advice that people can still work from home ‘but should also return to work where possible’ staff have agreed to an earlier start date.

The council will now open the centre initially on Mondays only from Monday, August 3 (9.15am to 12.30pm) and will continue with Monday only opening until September 14 when the centre will then be available for Parish residents on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (9.15am to 12.30pm).

All the usual parish council services will be offered.

Until August 3, all parish council staff continue to work from home.

The parish council has taken the decision to open the centre at The Parish Hall as it is currently unable to open its office in North Weald Library due to Government guidelines and social distancing measures.

Anyone with any queries or who needs any council service up until August 3 can ring contact the Clerk on 07572 507591.

Banners announcing the new centre will be displayed in North Weald Village, Hastingwood and Thornwood with the information also added to the council’s website and council notice boards.

Staff will be offering appointments and also providing a drop-in service, all appropriately socially distanced.

Appropriate PPE will be available.
