Concerns over man missing from Ongar

Update: 1900 hrs:

Bert Russell has been found.

OFFICERS looking for 85 year-old Bert Russell, who’s currently missing, are asking anyone who sees him to call us on 999 immediately.

Chief Inspector Leigh Norris said: “If you see Bert, please call us as soon as you’re able to and, if possible, keep sight of him until you’re able to speak to us or until we’re able to get to you.

“We’re really concerned about Bert and it’s really important any information about where he is gets to us as quickly as possible.

“Bert is vulnerable and has Alzheimer’s so any live-time sighting of him warrants calling our 999 emergency number”.

Bert was last at around 8.50am yesterday (Monday 10 August) in Newhouse Lane, Ongar and we’ve had a confirmed sighting of him in Epping Road, Coopersale travelling from North Weald to Epping.

He was last seen wearing a sunhat, beige shorts, and a grey long-sleeved top with stripes on.

HAVE you seen 85-year-old Herbert Russell from Ongar, who has been reported missing?

Herbert is around 6ft tall and was seen around 8.50am this morning in Newhouse Lane, Ongar Monday 10 August.

He was later seen at 9.45am at the Talbot roundabout, North Weald.

He was wearing a sunhat, beige shorts and a grey long sleeve top with stripes on.

Police are worried about Herbert, and so are his family, and want to find him to make sure he is okay.
