Halfon secures further funding to combat rough sleeping in Harlow
HARLOW MP, Robert Halfon, has secured a further £81,000 to help tackle rough sleeping in Harlow as part of a £91m Government package announced today. The funding comes on top of £56,000 in March and over £230,000 last year.
During the height of the pandemic, every rough sleeper in Harlow was moved into secure accommodation. This funding will ensure that vulnerable people and rough sleepers continue to have safe accommodation and do not return to sleeping rough.
Commenting on the announcement, Robert said: “I have been working hard to secure more funding from the Government to support the brilliant work of Streets2Homes in tackling rough sleeping in Harlow.
“We must build on the work that was done during the pandemic and this funding will go a long way to doing that.
“I will continue to raise this with the Housing Secretary in Parliament so that no one in our town is without a roof over their head.”

£81,000 is 0.162% – a fraction of 1 percent – of a “Grayling”
A “Grayling” is the £50m cost to taxpayers for the canceled ferry contracts. The total cost to tax payers would probably higher.
I wonder which represents better value for money?
