Harlow MP to contact Mark Hall Sports Centre urgently over threat to stay shut until February

HARLOW MP Robert Halfon has pledged to contact Mark Hall Sports Centre after reports that it will remain closed until February.
YH reported on Monday morning that sports clubs had been informed that the centre may not re-open until new education trust BMAT takes over on February 1st, 2021.
This could leave hundreds of sports men and women left out in the cold.
This would include Paralympian Richard Chiassaro, who is training for the Tokyo Paralympics in 2021
Mr Halfon said: “I am disappointed to hear that there is a chance that our brilliant sports clubs will not be able to train at Mark Hall Sports Centre until February.
“The coronavirus regulations that come into force on Wednesday make clear that outdoor sport can resume. Residents of all ages have missed out on so much sport this year and it is extremely important that they are able to train for both their mental and physical health.
“”I will be contacting the trust as a matter of urgency to seek clarification that all those using the centre will be able to do so as soon as possible. We are lucky to have so many incredible sports clubs in our community training at Mark Hall and the trust must ensure that everything possible is done to support them.”
