FOURTEEN-year-old Ben Seary is now the second reciprocate of our bursary award scheme which is to help towards cricket coaching costs outside
the facilities offered within the existing Harlow Cricket Club Colts coaching scheme.
This award is to help Ben’s funding with his NFBA placement this winter.
NFBA is the National Fast Bowling Academy being run at the nearby HECC cricket school. The Academy is organised by former Essex county
cricketer Iain Pont.
14 year old Ben has been a junior member of our club for over five years and this season played for three of our Saturday league teams being the
5th, 4th and 2nd XI’s. In the final 2nd XI match a couple of weeks ago he was on a hat trick which was witnessed by our HCC VPC Chairman, Simon
Baulcomb who was playing in the same team.
Young Ben is an all-rounder in the making. He both bats and bowls and scored his maiden half century this summer in the 5th XI and then
repeated that feat again with another fifty plus a few weeks later.
Also this season he was top wicket taker for the 5th XI this with 15.
This is the second occasion the HCC VPC has awarded a bursary. Last year we helped Callum Sykes at the same fast bowling academy.
